KIBUNGAN, Benguet – Combined police operatives and anti-narcotics agents successfully destroyed over P6.7 million worth of marijuana plants which were planted in at least 20 sites in two villages during a two-day marijuana eradication operation that ended late Friday afternoon.

Proponents of the marijuana legalization ballot measure said they submitted far more than enough petition signatures Thursday to get it on November’s ballot, and said they hoped to raise and spend about $10 million to get it passed.

Following New Jersey’s decision to legalize medical marijuana , New York cannabis activists say now is the time to push for similar legislation in the Empire State.
