In today's society, there is a lot of controversy over the complete legalization of marijuana, be it for personal use or medical use.
Marijuana Legalization For Medical Use
In the past, marijuana was used for common ailments such as headaches, menstrual cramps, and sea sickness to name a few. But lately, research into marijuana has focused on more severe conditions like AIDS, HIV, ADHD, multiple sclerosis, glaucoma, and tourette's syndrome. Also, the pain, nausea, and appetite loss associated with chemotherapy has greatly been aided by the use of marijuana.
Marijuana Legalization For Personal Use
The legalization of marijuana for personal use seems to be where the greatest debate lies. Many feel that although the medical implications are great, they do not justify the legalization of marijuana for personal use. Others believe that the economy would boom with it's legalization; creating jobs and a taxable product. The medical companies loathe the idea because a plant (not specifically the marijuana plant) cannot be patented.
